Wattson by DIY KYOTO
The innovative Wattson by DIY Kyoto makes tracking your energy consumption easy, an invaluable way to minimize your energy footprint and save money. Wattson is a surprisingly compact and easy to install device that indicates how much electricity you're using at any given time. You simply attach the included sensors to your electrical meter, where it transmits the information to the interior Wattson box.
The Wattson is a simple, u-shaped box in black and white that looks a bit like a contemporary sculpture and is small enough (105mm x 170mm x 55mm) to tuck onto the back of a table or next to your computer for quick and easy referall. The black and white case is neutral enough for any room and makes reading the digital read-out easy.
The digital display shows you in glowing numbers how much energy you're using in pounds, dollars or euros as well as energy generated, net consumption and total energy used to date. The LED lights glow in blue when energy usage is low and change to red when you're using too much energy. A memory feature lets you compare daily, weekly, monthly and yearly energy consumption averages. The Wattson educates you on your electrical usage so that you can tame it - and includes software and online links that provide conservation tips. Typical savings of Wattson users are 3-15%!
And the designers haven't forgotten that any gadget, no matter how helpful, consumes energy even if its helps, so they've made sure the Wattson is energy efficient itself, sticking with recyclable materials and minimal energy usage.
