Author Janine Benyus of Biomimicry: Innovation Inspired by Nature seeks to practice what she preaches and spread the good word about living in harmony with nature by imitating it.
Benyus believes that nature has evolved and survived for billions of years and we can to if we stop destroying it and rather try to live in harmony with it.
And people are following Benyus ideas.
For example, have you seen Japan’s 500 Series Shinkansen bullet trains? They look awfully similar to a kingfisher’s beak. Or how about the latest and greatest in the biodegradable glue world? A simple study in how mussels cling to rocks in the deep blue gave makers the motivation.
After all, there is not a better teacher in the ways of life and survival of the fittest than Mother Nature herself.
