Last year the citizens of Sydney, Australia came together for Earth Hour, a motivational event on March 31st where the entire city shut off its lights for 1 hour.
In that hour they reduced power by 10.2% which is the same as taking 48,000 cars off the road. And boy did the world take notice.
Cities around the world, including Toronto, Copenhagen and Manila, plan on switching off during Earth Hour.
