His works are stunning.
There is no set "style."
Rather, there are structures that bring together the culture, location and wants of the client into perfect unison – no one structure being the same as the previous.
And now, his matchless efforts are being honored with a 2008 Pritzker Architecture Award – the loftiest of the lofty in his industry.
So who is this mystery man?
None other than French architect Jean Nouvel.
Unlike his projects, Nouvel was completely humbled and seemingly bowled over by the win.
His modest claims of, "I did not think this was my year," only makes him more appealing as do his bold statements of, "[I am taking] this prize as a strong incentive to continue… ambitious work."
We hope you do Jean Nouvel, we truly hope that you do.
