This London House is chock full of colorful design elements against a traditional backdrop. We love the brilliant blending of traditional architecture and modern decor. Parquet floors, ornate crown moldings, and elaborate fireplaces are remnants of a century ago that are highlighted by cool, white walls.
In contrast, the modern decor features bold, bright colors and artistic prints that stand out against the more formal elements. Not many rooms would work successfully with so many competing upholstery prints (florals, stripes and zigzags), but they're lovely against the soothing white walls. A long, lean slice of table with matching benches adds the perfect organic touch to the living room without overwhelming.
The bedroom relies on a complex blend of textures, including a flokati rug, velvet upholstered headboard, and an antique, cut glass mirror propped casually against the wall. The architectural interior features extra deep baseboards and a beautiful, scrolled fireplace that transcends eras.
